To fork the thread a little - I changed the Subject so it
was not hijacked ...

Adding an internal card to a desktop PC is cool for Duane's
project.

Has anyone done the same thing using a laptop?

Since most do not come with a A/V Input port how might one
do the same thing?

I am guessing a USB adapter of some sort.

It should be non-proprietary, that is, OS-independent.

BTW:  Such a solution would also work with a desktop and
be non-invasive.
