[Ham-Computers] Wanting to borrow...

Kurt: If you have not followed Gary's suggestion and gone to your
local library...

I made a copy of my Windows SP3 upgrade on a CD-R, and will mail it
to you. I'll need your mailing address. The original disk was an
autostart, but you will need to start this copy manually. Use
Windows Explorer (or one of the much better aftermarket app's, like
Directory Opus) to go to AUTORUN.EXE and double-click this
file. Maybe you could just use Start>Run, but you probably want to
look at the contents first because the upgrade is in a folder.

If you click "What to know before installing Service Pack 3, you will
notice sp2 is mentioned. I guess they copied it directly from sp2
without checking it carefully.

If sp3 is already installed it will hang up instead of reinstalling
over the old one.

Does it include sp2, or do you need to install sp2 first? I don't
know. I have the sp2 install disk too, and think I used it in the
past. I bought sp3 about 9/6/08.

Burning this disk makes me appreciate flash drives. I had to install
disk burning software and get back up to speed again, including
remembering that all my drives are not RW when I could not burn anything.
