[Ham-Computers] Removing Old Mail Storage Files

Hi All,

Question: is it "safe" to delete the .dbx files that deleted e-mail is being 
stored in? I noticed one labeled "deleted items.dbx" had over 33 Meg in it! 
Am I going to get myself into trouble killing the file or is it just useless 
debris niether I nor the computer really need any longer?
