Jim,
First, if you turn off the router and the modem between it and your ISP,
replace it with the other one(s), start the modem and then the router, it
should come up OK. You might possibly have to reboot the attached computers and
printers. Reverse the proceedure to go back to the BFSR41 and the same
comments apply. You should not have to get "into" the old router in order to
do this.
Second, the BEFSR41 factory defaults are User ID is blank (none) and
password is "admin". The IP address to access it is the Default Gateway you will
see for any attached computer. I forget the IP defaults but to find out
what they are now, at the computer keyboard for Windows 2000 or XP click Start,
Run, enter "CMD", press <Enter>. Type "ip config" and press <Enter>. All
without the quotes, of course.
To reset the router to factory defaults (if you did change the password),
on the back stick a straightened paperclip into the Reset hole and press and
hold the switch for 5+ seconds.
