[Ham-Computers] Need good search word

When RVing, I take my laptop to send emails and check a few 
reflectors, etc.  The most convenient location is inside my travel 
trailer, but have weak signal issues.  It has an aluminum siding, 
which acts like a shield.  The signal isn't the best even outside, 
since it usually comes from a router on a shelf inside the office, 
and the signal must pass through the building and a around few 
monster RV's parked between me and the office.  Bigger is definitely 
better in the RV field.  I frequently need to go to the laundry room, 
or maybe a bench outside the office or in my truck parked near the office.

I've been looking for something to minimize this problem.  My laptop 
doesn't have an external antenna connector.  I've been surfing the 
internet, and found a device that connects to my laptop with a USB 
cable and uses an external antenna.  I can't find the link again and 
really need a good search word.  I usually get oceans of wireless 
routers. Any suggestions, either for a search link or something you 
have used?
