A great alternative to a NAS unit is www.freenas.org. It's very easy to setup and maintain.

Does anyone know what happened to the Linksys NAS200 network drive housing? 
 I got an advance card on it maybe last year and was going to look into it 
but got sidetracked.  I recently decided again to pursue it but they no 
longer seem to sell it.  Did it have problems?  Or did it just not sell like 
hotcakes so they dropped it?
