[Ham-Computers] Antivirus help

Hello all I'm working on a friends computer and trying to put AVG free on it 
to do a virus scan and when it gets to a certain point when trying to 
download AVG, I get a box that says cannot detect internet connection....I 
have DSL...I turned the firewall off but that didn't help...

Other websites come up with no prob.

What am I overlooking???
