Spybot Search & Destroy has a small application that detects attempted
changes to the Windows Registry called TEATIMER, which allows you to OK
updates to the registry.

As most malware places run at startup instructions in the registry this
might help you find out what is actually happening while protecting your
computer.

"Learning is evidenced by a change in behavior."

It's a pain however, to constantly have to OK each and every change and
you, or yours, will soon tire of this boring task. I suggest you find
out how the infection occurs and stop doing whatever causes it.

PS Spybot also has a comprehensive HOSTS file which prevents accessing
known malware web sites and is worth IMHO also installing.
