Do you close FF after deleting?
There are some great plugins for FF. I use Cookie Monster to control
which sites are allowed to use cookies. FF is set to delete everything
when it closes anyway. If you use this, set FF to not accept cookies
and use the plugin to override it.
There is also BetterPrivacy, which deletes other (flash) cookies.
Don't forget NoScript, which controls javascript on a per-site basis, as
well as Flashblock, which prevents Flash from starting automatically.
These will work on Windows or linux.
Safe surfing!
