Does anyone have or have any experience with the Linksys (Cisco) BEFDSR41W
router? Specifically, according to info on the Linksys site, it has a
PCM-CIA (I think that's still the correct terminology) slot described as being
for some Linksys wireless card. Does anyone know whether it will also take an
AirCard?
Back in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike cable was down and phone lines
(including DSL) were down. We had no Internet access, and my wife had eBay
auctions running that started the day after the storm first hit. After an
abortive purchase of a USB dongle from RadShack that would give Internet access to
one computer, but which wouldn't allow that computer to stay connected to
our LAN, I scoured Houston for an AirCard and a Router that would take it.
Found both but the router is only a 4-port and it isn't a good mechanical
match to our other hardware (stackable Linksys units). I have a defunct
BEFSR81 that I might be able to transplant the guts of the router I have into, but
I came across this BEFDSR41W and thought if it would work then it wouldn't
require any home-brewing.
