Subject: [Ham-Computers] AHCI/IDE boot problem

I have a HP 64 bit machine that has two HDD's, both SATA.

Original is a 1 TB and the added drive is a 320m GB, both Western digital
drives.

Problem: I must have the bios set to IDE for the 320 GB drive to boot and
the bios set to AHCI for the 1 TB drive to boot.

If I leave the bios set to AHCI when I try to boot the 320 drive I get the
BSOD with a stop error code.

The same thing with the 1 TB drive: when the bio is set to IDE, I get the
bsod.

Question: How do I get the 320 drive to boot with the bios set to AHCI?

Comments and suggestions appreciated!

Gene, WØQFC
