Hello All,
My dear friend, and yours too, Aaron 'The Wizard of all things wireless' is
alive and well. I spoke with him today be landline at his home.
He is monitoring the list, but due to some unexpected changes in his life,
has been too involved with them to become involved with our computer woes.
He sends his best to all and promises to return as soon as he can.
For the person wanting to run Professional Write Version 2.22, the last DOS
version, on his XP Home Edition or Pro system, Aaron said you can download a
virtual simulation for your computer. This somehow enables XP to run a DOS
simulation. This program I think is free, but I may be wrong about that! You
can find it, read about it and download it from the Internet.
I am still hoping that one of you has, knows of, or can locate an old HP 3P
black/white flat bed scanner for me. I "must" use the older technology,
otherwise I am going to have to replace the entire computer etc. The upgrade
of the Arkenstone OpenBook 3.5 software I have will have to be upgraded. So
I can no longer run under Windows 95, 95B or any version of Win 98.
Any HP flat bed scanner from the 1995 - 1997 area will work, as well as
Panasonic FX-RS 505, 506 and 307. Also a Partner #10 by Fujitsu. All Cannon
scanners were thumbs down.
Thank you for your assistance. This is a system I absolutely must have daily
to read regular print with. Replacing all of it is more then I can afford to
do.
