Has anyone ever been successful in loading PCMCIA drivers for a network card in DOS so that it will work in Win 3.11?
I have a DELL Latitude LM P166MHZ MMX with 24MB ram and 3.2 GB hard drive. And the network card is a 16-bit Belkin F5D5020 10/100 card.
I have installed the drivers and have also installed the TCP/IP-32 files for Win 3.11 and it won't load the card.. Its really driving me batty... Windows is also giving me an error #58 and I've search the web but it isn't much help.
In my reading it talked about the driver file name not being listed in protocol.ini in the windows directory and I checked the file and it is listed there.
And yes I'm a linux fan but this laptop is primarly used for radio programming, ham stuff such as packet, etc and OLD dos games so don't go sugguesting I switch to linux as an alternative. I'm just doing this all for kicks, and well I would like to be able to transfer files back and forth so I don't have to use floppies or burn cds all the time.
Any thoughts or ideas on how to fix my problem?
Jonathan
