[Ham-Computers] Another email question

No, it just replaces it with Linux blues.
Let me give you an example. I wanted greater security with on-line
banking type work, so installed Ubuntu Linux on an older P3-933
computer that was no longer in use. I learned in the past to pick an
easy version of Linux, and so far everything is super. I have a free,
secure, dedicated computer for financial matters. I received a
promotion that would give me $100 if I opened an account at WaMu and
got and used their debit card. Fine, went to their local branch,
took care of the paperwork so I enrolled and had an on-line account,
learned WaMu is now part of Chase, came home, went to the Chase URL,
and could not access my account.

I decided to make a Word document displaying the screens I accessed
so I could debug easier. I can no longer could use Word, but Ubuntu
came with Open Office that is supposed to be just as good. I
normally use Irfanview to cut important parts of a window and paste
them to a Word document, but no longer can use Irfanview. I can't
find a Linux version. I used alt-Print Screen to copy the entire
window to the Open Office Word Processor. Pretty soon, I had a
number of overlapping images and the program was slowing down. I
started again, using a number of CR's between each image. Now I have
many pages, so decided to number them. God Forbid! In Word, a couple
of keystrokes is needed - not so with Open Office. I went to their
forum, and found a multi-page sticky about page numbering. Pretty
soon facts were going in one ear and out the other, so read some
responses. They were stumped, too. I really need Word, an discovered
there is an application called Wine that allows much of MS Office to
be used, but I bought this computer used with Word preinstalled.

I solved the original issue by returning to the local WaMu
office. Chase-Chase and Chase-WaMu have different web sites.

I like my dedicated computer, but how do I automatically have 1 of 3,
2 of 3, etc. listed at the top right corner of each page?

Jim
