The free version of AVG is fairly small as it's only a virus
checker. The AVG security suite is complete protection with a
firewall, anti virus, spy and trojan protection, and other
goodies. However the full version is not free. It's (in my opinion)
well worth the fairly modest price. Mine runs (and updates)
automatically every day. I also run Spybot just in case but after
AVG runs Spybot never finds
any missed by AVG. I have used nearly a dozen different protection
programs and have settled on AVG. After having been a LAN admin for
20 years before retiring I've seen a lot of overpriced and bloated
software that isn't as good and really slows down a PC. No
connection to AVG except as a satisfied customer. You know what they
say about opinions; just like bungholes everyone has one. 73 Gary N9ZSV
