If the BIOS doesn't detect a drive, it's not going to show in the OS.

That *might* be your issue.  Most motherboards do not require the setup 
routines that used to come with drives.  They used to have some sort of 
extender to allow the bios to interact with larger drives, but this was 
years back.  Not sure if the software does the same thing.  I just hook 
the drives up and let the OS do the partitioning/formatting.

If you can uninstall the software and just attach the drive, that might 
fix the issue.  You can also check on the mfgrs website.

You can try putting it back in the other computer to see if it is 
recognized, before or after the setup software is removed.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your computers also.

If you can't remove the software, try a partitioning utility like 
GPARTED (free) or many of the others.
