I don't bother wasting my time hating the non-supporters.  It's more 
productive to support the linux supporting vendors.

Dell has been a lot nicer to linux users.  You can order a few of their 
consumer computers and laptops with Ubuntu.  You can get other flavors 
on commercial hardware.  There is a thriving linux-Dell community also. 
  It's good to go there before ordering.

Because Dell has made the effort, effort is being made to go Dell.  They 
dispatched a rep to a local linux user group to go over their plans. 
They're pretty serious, although not perfect.

Michael Dell allegedly used Ubuntu for a year before deciding to feature 
it on some products.


I have yet to meet a desktop or laptop that will not run linux.
