Thanks Mike,
This CD didn't come with the Toshiba, I bought it about a year or so
ago to use on another PC. Since then I have lost the CD key. Your
idea of contacting Toshiba probably is the best bet. I wasn't sure
they would send the restore CD. Trying can't hurt though.
Thanks for the great info and I'll give Toshiba a try.

Are you wanting to use the CD to repair the Toshiba? If it's not the one
that came with the laptop, it probably won't work unless you do a full,
clean install. Most laptop makers use a customized version of XP. If
it's a retail version, you may have trouble getting the proper Toshiba
drivers. Maybe not.
If it's the one that came with the laptop, if the laptop can still
start, get a copy of BelArc Advisor. It can retreive the key.
Your best bet may be to contact Toshiba for a replacement CD. That would
mean taking the machine back to an as-new state. If you can back
anything up off the drive, do so.
Hope I made some correct assumptions.
