I pretty much agree with everything, except I use auto website login
because NO ONE can access my hardware, I do not leave my confuser running
except for regular runs to the sand box, next to my study and only if no
one is present in the house other than my wife and young son.
I highly recommend the use of a NAT router between your confuser and the
rest of the world. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation
they are not very expensive and free with Vonage.
I never use any kind of firewall other than the NAT router.
I must manually sign in to every terminal with a good password, I keep all
relevant security updates installed (Slackware) as soon as the E-mail comes in,
I never put it off. I use seamonkey with flash and Opera without any plugins
for very fast browsing and downloading.
