[Ham-Computers] SATA card install problem

I have been trying for the last two days to install the new SATA controller 
card with NO luck!

The card is a Sabrent (Silicon Image) SBT-SRD2, to be used with two Maxtor 
500 GB HDD's. (Can not see the drives until the card is installed).

The op system is Windows XP PRO and the computer is a HP 304W.

I have followed the card's instructions to the letter without success. I 
searched 700+ pages on the internet and was unable to find a solution.

No matter what I do, I can not get Windows to 'see' the new card; have 
install all available updates from Microsoft.

I realize that the card could be defective, but I do not think so. . . .

Can anyone offer some help to this very frustrated old fart??
