Kurt,
I didn't see anyone post any answers to your question so I'll offer a few
guesses. The reason that they are guesses is that I am Windows 95/98 illeterate,
having gone from 3.11 to NT4.0. But I presume that one way to start a DOS
app is with a Shortcut created on whatever 98 calls what W2K calls the Desktop.
On an NT, W2K or XP machine, if you right-click the shortcut and click
Properties, one of the tabs is Screen. Under that tab you have a choice (among
other things) of Full Screen or Window.
Also, although you cannot size a DOS window as you would a Windows window (by
grabbing the edge and pulling), you can at least under the three OS's I'm
familiar with resize it on a semipermanent basis. Click the icon in the upper
left corner of the DOS window. Click Properties, then Font. The DOS window
size is hard related to the font size as it is (usually or always???) a fixed 80
characters wide by 24 rows high. Picking a larger font size will give you a
larger DOS window size. Thanks to Aaron for the tip about that upper left
icon. I never saw it in print.
The physical size of a DOS window will also change if you change the video
monitor resolution.
On the top to bottom wrap problem, I'd guess it's something to do with the
video driver. Play with the setting there and you may stumble upon a
combination that will fix it.
