Not really!  I collect OTR (Old Time Radio Shows) in the MP3 format and have 
over 54,000 shows on my system, total size of collection ~300GB.  The 
computer has 500 & 750 GB drives and I have an 500GB external drive.  The 
entire collection is stored on each of the three drives, IF a drive fails I 
don't lose anything. There are over 10,000 shows available for download on 
my Multiply blog site.
