[Ham-Computers] Running laptop mobile?

Depends on what you want to do.  I use my laptop(s) for mobile HF spectrum
analysis and find the inverters generate hash and physically get in the way.
I've run 12V from the lighter plug, 7Ah batteries and 12 VDC power jacks
I've installed in the console and been much happier.  I've used 12VDC on
laptops requiring from 10 to 16 volts over the years without problem, it
would be up to you if you want to risk putting 12 - 14 volts into a 10VDC
computer, but it's worked for me.
