Hi Dale,

My DVD drive failed months ago so I cannot reinstall the program that came
with
this machine which is Microsoft ME.
And, the 3 1/2 inch floppy drive will play back but won't record. I have
both a new
DVD and 3 1/2 inch drive to be put in but I can't do it myself. I am
paraplegic and
can't without help. My son and I tried but we couldn't get the cage that
holds the
DVD out. Later, I found out what I think is the problem on the Dell website
but
this was after my son had gone! This machine is a Dell Dimension 4100.
My son is very busy and getting more busy as we go into summer. He has a
large
boat and conducts charter fishing trips in the southeaster Louisiana area
near the
Gulf of Mexico.

I may try to fix this machine by myself today but not easy from a
wheelchair.
Wish me luck!
The problems have been building up for many months and the machine has
slowed
down to a crawl almost and I am subscribed to high speed service.
