It's most likely a Lucent WinModem, quite common for Compaq business laptops.  You can find all the drivers for the E500 on HP's website.  Here's a link to the E500 support page:

The link ends with "96231", so if the line gets split, cut-n-paste it back together.


Another option is to go to the HP Product Support homepage:

and type in E500 as the product.
