[Ham-Computers] RE: Link for AVG 7.5

Unfortunately, a link to v7.5 won't help much - AVG will stop supplying virus definition updates pretty soon (if they haven't done so already). Using a newer but slower AV program is better than a faster AV program with out-of-date signatures! But, if you insist...

In the box labled "Information related to version:", select the 7.5x version you'd like.

I have AVG 8 installed on several computers and haven't noticed any performance hit (yet). Can you tell if there's anything in particular that's slowing down? Whatever the performance hit, it can't be as bad as Norton/Symantec Anti-virus!

Oh, if the slowness is specifically with your browser, then you may want to disable or un-install the "Link Scanner" component. It checks and scans each webpage you visit to to make sure it's safe. But, this could cause webpages to seem slower as AVG does it's thing. Rather than using Link Scanner, I use NoScript (add-on) for Firefox and selectively enable/disable "interactive" items on a page.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Link for AVG 7.5

Can someone provide a good link for the old version of AVG before they
released 8.0.
8.0 has my computer here slowed down to a crawl.

I used to have 7.5 on the old computer here and worked great but ever since
I got 8.0, mercy its gotten bad.

Anybody can provide a good link I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Brian
