[Ham-Computers] Re OE Attachment Filtering Problem

Hi All,

I am using XP Home Edition with Outlook Express 6.0.

If someone send me an e-mail with an attachment, OE is removing text or a
.jpg All I have left is a little .htm file of about 5K

Today I noticed that on the screen it said that OE had removed an unsafe
text attachment etc.

I am running AVG to stop dangerous attachments and AVG does nothing to it. I
also know the sender and the file is perfectly fine.

I have a dial up connection. Even though the file that 'save as attachment'
shows to be 5.1K and as a .htm, it takes a long time to send this same
e-mail back to the sender! Hence, the real file is there someplace, and is
the original size too!

Another friend sent me an e-mail that contained two sound files, both quite
small. What I got was an ".eml file" and it was smaller then what he had
sent to me. One e-mail with the two sound files attached.

I am totally blind. How can I stop OE from altering these files? The anti
virus and firewall software should stop any attachment that is really
dangerous or contaminated.

Thank you for your assistance.
