[Ham-Computers] XP with SATA Harddrive

Loren,

This machine (a custom built Systemax with a P4 dual core) has all SATA
drives in it (2 70GB drives and a 325 GB one) and XP has never had a problem
recognizing any of them. If fact, I once had to load the entire operating
system from scratch, using the bootable XP CD and there wasn't any problem.

Note: XP has even found SATA drives that I had connected but not selected
in the BIOS setup.

So, it sounds to me like you have something else going on.

Hello,

I got a Compaq C700 laptop for Christmas and it has Vista on it. I want to
install XP on it so I can use all of my radio software.

Xp will not recognize a SATA drive and I don't have a floppy drive in the
laptop. Does anyone know how I can install XP on this laptop by getting it
to recognize the HD? Thanks!
