Do you use Windows messenger?  If not (esp if you have MSN Messenger), then you can use the Add/Remove Programs control panel to un-install it.  It can be found in the Windows Components section.

Another option is to untick the box that allow it to start with Windows - this might be the same option as allowing it to run in the systray.

Last thought...change the login authentication type.  The default is Microsoft Passport - I believe there's a second type that doesn't work, so it shouldn't auto-logon.

Does anyone know how to stop Windows messenger from signing in automatically? There is no box in any menu to stop this. There is for MSN Messenger but not Windows Messenger. Also I can find no Uninstall for this.
