I would suggest turning Auto Updates to full "off" until after the SP3 dust settles. You may want to wait until just before SP3 is released before actually turning it off. If you don't mind the "nag" factor, you could set it to "notify me" instead of full off.
BTW, back when SP2 was first released, Microsoft provided an "out" via a registry entry that prevented AU from downloading SP2 - they will probably provide the same for SP3. However, this only delays the installation as MS eventually instructed AU to ignore the setting after a few weeks (or was it months?). Should a similar SP3 registry entry become available, I'll let you know (if I remember...).

Thanks to all who responded. Why am I not surprised at most of the input? LOL.
Aaron, probably most of us remember the fiasco of the new and unripened SP2. My computer manufacturer recommended a six-month wait. I waited. I was glad I did.
Would you recommend moving Automatic Updates from a full ON to what setting?
And never to return to a full ON?
