[Ham-Computers] Phil's CD Problem

Hi Duane,

It is true that I have a full back-up Hard Drive containing the OS and all
other programs (Office etc) that I routinely use, that I can restore from,
and that would be a good idea, except that when I freshly reloaded
everything from the factory CD's (to be sure I had a clean install) and
originally created the backup Hard drive, I didn't put the SWLog program on
the computer as I never expected to use that program again (and still
don't). That was why I saved the SWLog databases etc to CD ROM in case I
wanted to recover the logging data.

Oh well, it's a moot point and life must go on, it's too short to waste on
fretting over spilt milk. What I was trying to do was obtain the
frequencies that I had logged certain utility stations on. I'll just search
for them on the web.

This has taught me one thing though. I once considered using DVD's for
backup archives, and bought an external burner for that purpose. Now I
Won't use DVD's as the sole backup for any of my OTR files, but keep them on
extra hard drives, no matter how many I may need to get down the road. I'll
just use the DVDs as an extra layer of "peace of mind" and hopefully they'll
be good if or when I need one. There are way too many hours invested in
working on this project to cut corners.
