[Ham-Computers] HD Problems.

I've been playing with BIOS settings and when I set the HD to to User Type
HDD, I have the option of LBA. This gives me preset C, H, S of 1024, 255
and 63 which comes out to 8.422GB.

Setting translation method to Manual allows me to change C, H, S, but it
won't accept the HD parameters of 16,383, 255 and 63. It's the 16,383
cyclinders that it doesn't like, it defaults to 1024 which gives me less
space. I can play with the cylinder setting and get it up to about 1280 or
so with a HD capacity of roughly 10.5GB as claimed by the BIOS, but it still
shows ~7.85GB in the OS.

The problem seems to be either the OS won't let me bypass the BIOS settings
and\or, the BIOS is limited.

The motherboard is an Asus Mew 810, is there possibly a utility to flash new
BIOS parameters?

Kurt
