[Ham-Computers] E-mail attachment problems.

A frined of mine is having problems when she gets an attachment in e-mail.
She forwards it to me and I can open them without problem, but here is what
happens when she tries:

She has Outlook Express, OS is Windows XP, Home Edition

She gets an e-mail from someone, it has a forwarded message as indicated by
the paper clip in the upper right corner and in the attachment column to the
left of the message.

She clicks the paper clip, a small drop down box appears with the name of
the attachment and "Save Attachments" below the name.

She clicks on the attachment to open it.

A box appears in the center of her screen entitled "Mail Attachment" and it
asks if she wants to open it or cancel.  There is a line "Always ask before
opening this type of file" which has a checkbox next to it, the box is
checked.

She clicks "open".  Another box appears called "Identity Login"  It has her
earthlink user name and the password area is blank.

She enters her password for her earthlink account and clicks "OK".

Another box appears over the "Identity Login" box, this one is called
"Password Error" with a message of "The password you typed is incorrect".
The only choice with this box is "OK".

She forwards the forwarded e-mail with attachment to me, I click on it, it
opens.

Any idea why she is unable to open attachments?
