Paul,

I know you've already fixed the problem, but I really have to ask...What exactly *requires* the Yahoo browser? For reference, the Yahoo browser is just IE6 with a heavy "skin". You should be able to do anything with IE6 (and most anything with Firefox) that you can with the Yahoo browser.

Additional notes:

Firefox has tabbed browsing...had it from day one, IIRC. IE's (with IE7) only recently caught up with Opera and Firefox on "tabs".

If you use Firefox and run across a page that's keyed to IE, you can use the "IE Tab" extension. This allows Firefox to display IE-centric webpages. It does this by using the IE engine to render the page in a Firefox tab. WARNING: since it's using the IE engine, any potential IE flaws can be exploited - use it only when necessary.

Another *highly* recommended Firefox extension is "NoScript". This blocks all javascripts from running until you allow them. Great for preventing pop-ups and "intellitext" links. I also use AdBlock Plus, but not as often since installing NoScript (most ads are displayed via a javascript).

All three extensions can be found on the Firefox extensions page. However due to propagation delays, it might have an older version of NoScript. The latest version of NoScript can always be found at http://noscript.net.

73 all!

p.s. If you have time, look for me in this weekend's California QSO Party (10/6 & 10/7). Still need to get the station in working order, but I should be on and running 10m - 40m, propagation permitting. Info here: http://www.cpq.org
