[Ham-Computers] Strangest problem I've ever seen

This has to be one of the strangest help requests you will get. Over
the past couple of days I was trying to get my PC to boot a Linux "Live
CD" from my USB memory stick. That failed, but the problem it created
has me completely confused.

Now, every time I reboot or restart my computer, it attempts to boot
the same Linux OS!! The USB memory stick was taken out yesterday!
Somehow, the Linux information that was on the stick has either become
embedded in either the BIOS or in some weird non-volatile RAM! I could
understand if the memory stick was still inserted, but I've done about 8
or 10 restarts, and each one tries to start that Linux OS. The only way
I can get the Windows OS back is to hit F-10 as the system boots, and
force it to boot from the hard drive.

What in Aunt Sadie's Bloomers have I done THIS time?!?!?!?

Tnx es 73
Dave
