Earlier today I stupidly (worse than foolishly) opened an email I should have
just deleted and Norton pops up with a virus warning. I ran NAV 2005 but it
wasn't able to repair, quarantine, or delete the two files it reported,
mIRC.ini and Script.ini. I eventually tracked down the infected file containing the
two .ini's in one of the Compuserve 7.0 folders and with an old DOS utility
(PFM) renamed it and then deleted it. And neither Norton nor SpyWare Doctor
find anything now.
However, in reading the fine print from Norton on the threat (a Trojan) it
said after removing it they recommended reinstalling mIRC Services. What is
mIRC Services? I'm running NT 5 (W2K).
