Paul,
Last I checked, the ATT/Yahoo browser is nothing more than a heavy "skin" on top of Internet Explorer. The "content" of the ATT/Yahoo browser is nothing more than a Yahoo webpage that's been customized for AT&T broadband customers.
If you wish to continue to use the Yahoo Browser, but want to use Firefox as the "default" browser, then you'll need to change the program associations in Windows. Luckily, both IE and Firefox have a checkbox that will do this for you.
In Firefox, depending on what version you have (these instructions are for 2.0), click on "Tools" -> "Options". At the bottom of the "Main" tab is an option to allow Firefox to check to see if it's the default browser. Tick this checkbox (to have Firefox check each time at startup), then click <Check Now>. If it's not the default handler, then it will prompt if you wish to make it the default handler. Click <Yes>.
Now you need to go into IE so it doesn't do the same check. Go to the Internet Options control panel (either via the Control Panels or through IE -> Tools -> Options). On the "Programs" tab, there is a tickbox on the bottom for the default browser check. Un-tick this box and click <OK>. IE should no longer check to see if it's the default browser.
However, with all this in mind, there are several associations that Firefox doesn't claim. These associations will still be handled by IE - an example is a "URL" link in e-mails. If you wish to have Firefox handle these particular associations, then you'll need to delete them manually re-associate the Windows file associations. This is beyond the scope of this e-mail, so e-mail me if you need details.

Brian,
I had seen some screenshots of the Yahoo browser and kinda liked the idea of one-click WX in addition to their flavor of tabs.
Just like a kid in a toy store ;-)
