    Thanks, Jeff. From all I've gathered so far, it looks like simply 
obtaining a SATA cable will let me mount the drive internally. This whole 
SATA thing is new technology to me, but found with some help from Aaron that 
I have more connectors available on the motherboard. That at least 
eliminates USB as an I/O bottleneck.

    As far as LINUX goes, I do have some experience with it. I have several 
CDs I burned from ISOs as you mentioned, and at one point managed to set up 
a dual-boot system on a single hard-drive PC. Can't remember which flavor of 
LINUX, though! That's the age thing starting to show up hi hi!

    Going to order a cable, and in a few days will probably be back here (or 
in the LINUX forum) screaming for help again!!

great!
