I picked up a pile of linear supplies for computers from a newspaper near
here (The Tulare Advance Register - which had decided to register and
advance by going to switching supplies). They used computers for
typesetting as well as word processing and image manipulation, so they had a
stack of the things hanging around to keep twelve monster PCs more or less
running. I noticed that some I got from them had some electrolytics that
had been replaced, and they have fairly massive heat sinks. I think I may
still have a couple in storage if someone is a real glutton for punishment
when it comes to cleaning one up and installing the proper connectors.
... note to the brave... being linear supplies they are indeed massive
compared to a switcher... can send you a digipic off list if your curiosity
is killing you...
