He may not be able to delete the Scott acct using this method if it is the
only administrator acct.

go into Control Panel, Users, and create a user account for yourself
named Herb (or Frank, or Sally, or whatever you like). This sets up an
entirely different profile for you and you'll have your own folder.
It's a little creepy that a refurb still has a name on it. It could
also have Scott's personal data.
Regardless, you can delete the Scott account.
