[Ham-Computers] ok whats up

My computer will not keep time
I have synced it 3 times TODAY
with the internet time
the time setting are all correct
running win XP home with SP2 installed avg antivirus  and zone alarm latest 
editions
processor is amd 1.9ghz processor and a gig of ram
bought computer in aug 05 from tiger direct
could battery on mother board be getting low
1st indication of problem was it  was over an hour slow when I turned it 
back on last night after shutting down because of unstable power in my area
