First place to look is at the place where his wireless
card comes to the outside of his PC.
Does it have a connector for an external antenna or is
the one attached non-removable.
If provision has been made for an external antenna then
he needs to get on the Internet and search for a matching
external antenna.
I prefer http://clusty.com as my search engine.
It may be helpful if he could get his neighbor to try
moving the antenna connected to his device as close to
a window facing the target house.
