I despise Windows.  It's not an operating system, it's a virus.
Unfortunately I'm forced to run an XP box for work.  Everything else is 
linux.  I never have a problem with the 3 linux boxes - only the XP box.

I've had to reinstall XP a number of times.  This install is 2 months 
old.  Already it's back to its old tricks.  The current bugger is that 
when it freezes up, it comes back minus the quicklaunch and with all 
views defaulted to large icons, instead of details, which I have set for 
all folders.

MS doesn't have much info on this (big surprise).
