Hi, Duane.

If I understand you correctly, you need to adjust your paradigm a bit. 
Linux slash open-source is anything but corporate (with a few large 
exceptions).  It's hacked together by geeks.  The problems stem from the 
large installed base of hardware and many different ways of doing the 
same thing - parallel development, I think.
