It costs virtually nothing to spam.  It costs a lot to do even bulk
snail mail.

Someone once told me "I'm not paranoid - I'm Acutely Aware".

I'm acutely aware too, but to the best of my knowledge, they don't hack.
They simply buy lists.  Your argument should also be with the list
sellers.  They vary from complete lowlifes to your credit card company
or mail order catalog(s).  Even charities do it.

The ACLU has a project right now about selling your info w/o your
permission.
