I wouldn't.  You get more network traffic, plus slowdown of the server
machine.

Having said that, one way would be to use terminal server and log into
the server to run the program(s).  It's kludgy, plus you can only log
two people into the server w/o purchasing a term server license, IIRC.

You could also try with something like OpenVPN or any other of the free
VPN programs.
