I am familiar with xine and mplayer. Xine works better in
my opinion. My mythtv setup uses mplayer.

My original question concerned file systems. I was looking
for a file system that could handle video (large files) and
be compatible with windows and linux. The only system I can
find that might be able to do that is VFAT. VFAT is okay
for windows but I cant see using it for linux.

So, instead of trying to make one drive work with two
different operating systems I decided to let each system
have its own drive. That way I can use VFAT with windows
and jfs with linux.
