Are you networking? If yes, look elsewhere. If 'no, do you have the network
options turned 'off' under 'OPTIONS"?
It is also possible that you have saved old autoexec.bat and config.sys
files and installed them with a new, or modified, OS. This would cause the
device to be looked for, even an installation attempted, but a device fault
would be the likely result.
