Why don't you try & re-install it over the top the current Adobe, then
uninstall it after you do the re-install. I've done that in the past.
If it ask you, if you want to repair or re-install, do the re-install
& not the repair. That should create a new uninstall file so you should
be able do the uninstall.

Lloyd,
My first thought is to delete the Acrobat folder and any associated
"settings" folders in local profiles (if you're using Win2K/XP). Then
dig through the registry to remove Acrobat settings. However, this is
not for the faint of heart!
Try here:
http://www.adobe.com/support
In the "Knowledgebase and tutorial search" box, type in "removing
acrobat reader" and click "go". Several articles should be found. Find
the article that most closely matches what version of the Acrobat Reader
and Windows you have. Basically, the steps differ slightly depending on
whether or not you included the "Search" option when
downloading/installing Acrobat Reader.
The steps listed have you go through and delete the folders manually and
then "un-register" the DLL's (which is essentially deleting the Registry
entries).

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Request assistance with Adobe reader
I have Adobe 5.0 or 5.0.5 hung up in my machine and can not uninstall
it. I get a message ""Unable to locate installation log file
"UninstX.isu"". Uninstallation will not continue. I need to remove it to
clean up my postal stuff. When I try to reinstall it, it 90% installs
and hangs up (program does not responde message). I then have to reboot
the computer to get out of it. It does not show up in my "All Programs"
list, but is shown in the "Add/remove" list in the Control Panel. Any
ideas out there?
Thanx
