: Careful there Frank! I have one over there in my faithful 133 MHZ machine
: that is still performing its duties without fail for over twenty-six
: thousand hours. It has a 3.5 1.44 Meg, and a pair of hard drives with 1.6
: and 2 GHZ on them.
I have some going into twenty two years now... I wish thay had put zirc
fittings on the older drives, they start squeaking after about fifteen
years... I used to repair the old 5.25" drive heads that came loose with
super-glue, then bend the arms around until they read properly. As odd as
the post sounded, everything except buffing the platter with steel wool was
pretty much the norm tweny years ago...
